We’re Officially Open at Parkview and Broadacres!
“What we are doing here together is creating new community cornerstones in our young people. What that will mean is a more prosperous community, a healthier community, and a safer community.” - Kelly Girtz, Mayor Athens-Clarke County Unified Government
We have officially opened two new satellite sites in partnership with Athens Housing Authority
and Athens-Clarke County Unified Government.
Following the success of our original satellite locations in the Rocksprings and Nellie B Communities, an additional award of $2.9 million dollars from ACCGov made it possible to continue to expand our programming. These facilities are staffed with trained and caring mentors and aim to provide safe, inclusive places where kids and teens build their confidence, explore their interests, and build their skills.
Activities at these locations focus on academic recovery, STEM, digital arts, indoor & outdoor recreation, and an overall healthy lifestyle.
“This represents a true partnership and a community coming together to address the needs of our youth. We are so grateful that the Athens Housing Authority, Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens, and our Mayor and Commission have banded together to provide resources so we can continue to provide a great future for our children.” - Robert Finch, President & CEO Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens
