Introducing Robert Finch, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens

Dear Community Partners, Donors, and Friends,

We are pleased to share with you that the Board of Directors has unanimously named Robert Finch as the next Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens. His first day in this role will be March 31, 2022.

Most of Robert’s career has been dedicated to serving others. Robert graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in Athens and went on to receive his B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and an MBA from Albany State University as a Regents award recipient. Robert received his law degree from the Florida Coastal School of Law, where he matriculated as a Governor’s Scholar. Robert has broad experience in state and federal government affairs serving as chief of staff for Georgia’s Senate majority leader and as an aide to the Georgia Senate Judiciary Committee.

Robert formed The Dean Group, LLC, a governmental affairs and business procurement firm, before he relocated to Charlotte to work in Corporate & Diversity Outreach at Charlotte School of Law. He returned to Athens to serve as the Chief Diversity Officer of Athens Regional Health Systems and later assumed the role of Vice President of Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer at Athens Regional Medical Center (now Piedmont Athens Regional). Robert is currently the Vice President of Coffee Regional Medical Center, and senior Pastor at Billups Grove Baptist Church in Athens, GA.

Robert has been affiliated with several local, state, and national organizations and has received numerous awards for his work.

We are incredibly excited for Robert to join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens’ family and look forward to your interaction with him as he defines his vision for supporting our members. Over the coming months, Robert plans to meet our community members, likely virtually, until it is safe to do so in person. As you learn about his priorities, strategy, and goals for our Clubs and community, we know you will be as hopeful about the future as we are.

For Robert, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens opportunity is an honor:

“It is a privilege to have this opportunity to my share my academic, government, entrepreneurial and spiritual experiences with so many deserving youth of this community. I have had an exciting professional career, and the opportunity to serve as BGCA’s next CEO represents an exciting chapter in my life that is continuing to unfold—this could easily be the book-end.”

We would like to thank our current CEO, Mike Hackett, for his hard work and dedication to our clubs for the past 20 years. We are grateful for his leadership and wish him well in his retirement.

We thank you for your continued support of our Clubs. Without your generosity and dedication, we would not be able to support the many kids and teens who enter our doors each day.

Sincerely,

Tee Noland

Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens Board Chair
