AFTER SCHOOL

Registration for our After School Program is now open! You can register online or in person at either club. Registration ends on Sept. 2nd, 2022.

If you live in Nellie B or Rocksprings, you can register for our neighborhood community center locations below!

21st CCLC programs provide a high-quality afterschool program that responds to the identified needs of students and their families, specifically addressing academic under-achievement, limited cultural experiences, and low attendance rates in a positive and safe environment that empowers students to grow socially, emotionally and academically.

Mind Blowers are a service based organization out of Terry College at UGA. They partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Athens to facilitate lessons, predominately covering financial literacy topics.

 IXL Learning is an online program where students can gain fluency and confidence with essential math and language arts skills through fun and interactive questions and built-in support. The program offers personalized skills recommendations based on what each student has been practicing and what they are ready to learn next.

Lyricism 101 is a program that intentionally includes proven youth development practices and creative activities that build and expand the literary skills of our teens, while exposing them to the art of hip hop, particularly cipher culture.

Chess and Community is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing youth to lead through community engagement and civic empowerment. They prepare youth to lead by focusing on academic enrichment, civic engagement, career and entrepreneurial skills development, and cultural education.

PowerHour: Making Minutes Count helps Club members ages 6-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Our club members utilize this hour by completing their homework and catching up on any other school work.

Triple Play is a suite of three targeted programs intentionally written to build the skills, attitudes, knowledge and behaviors essential to an overall healthy lifestyle. These three suites are Daily Challenges - building positive attitudes abour physical movement, Social Recreation - building healthy relationships with themselves and others, and Healthy Habits - motivating kids to make healthy nutrition choices.

Money Matters was designed using the latest research on financial education, behavioral economics and youth development. In our new curriculum, teens develop financial literacy skills that can lead them to workplace readiness, lifelong financial stability and overall success.

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-17. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Passport to Manhood represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior.
